Your Skin is Missing Out: Why ‘Water-Free’ Skincare Isn’t Always Better

Some skincare brands claim superiority by saying they don’t use ‘cheap fillers’ like water in their formulations. And yes, water can be considered a cheap filler.

But there’s something they’re not telling you.

Mature skin actually needs hydration, or at least some form of an aqueous component. However, this doesn't mean it has to rely on plain water.

At Power of Plants Skincare, I use premium plant-based hydrosols—steam-distilled in my traditional alembic copper still—which provide all the essential hydrating benefits, plus potent water-soluble antioxidants and protective polyphenols.

By excluding aqueous components, skin misses out on powerful water-soluble extracts like:

  • anti-oxidant green tea,

  • firming calendula,

  • repairing provitamin B5, and vitamin B3 (niacinamide), and

  • plumping hyaluronic acid,

  • protective silk peptides.

Each of these ingredients provides substantial benefits to mature and dry skin, helping to hydrate, firm, and revitalize.

As our skin ages, collagen production and moisture retention decline. This is where aqueous components truly shine. Water-based ingredients like hyaluronic acid and glycerine act as moisture magnets, delivering deep hydration and helping to plump up dull, tired skin.

Hydrated skin is happy skin—and at Power of Plants Skincare, we ensure your skin gets the moisture it craves, without compromising on the quality of our natural ingredients.
